Sara Bonaventura is atelierista and visual artist, with a MA degree in contemporary art and gender studies, diverse experiences of teaching, didactics, curatorial, pr, archive, in several Cultural Institutions (Venice Biennale, Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Giorgio Cini Foundation, Berlin Kicken Gallery, institutions based on the Reggio Emilia Approach in Italy, Ray of Light Atelier, by Reggio Children, or Ponzano Children, by Benetton Group and abroad, in Singapore IB campus of EtonHouse International Group). Currently teaching IB DP arts back in Italy, at H-Farm International School Venice.

Sara tries to fulfill her passion for the audiovisual medium. Her works have been screened worldwide, at the Anthology Film Archives in NYC, at Other Cinema in San Francisco, at the Miami New Media Festival, at the Ann Arbor Film Festival; selected for several residencies, among them the prestigious Fundación Botín one, in Spain, with mentor artist Joan Jonas. As independent videographer she has been directing/editing official clips and collaborating with performers enacting videodance pieces. Commissioned to film unconventional ads and visuals. Contender in several festivals winner for the Hong Kong Sino x Niio Illumination Art Prizes 2019.

She intertwines frame by frame drawn/cut-out animation or stop motion, video synthesis, analog/digi shot, found-footage, embracing a DIY ethic and aesthetic. If the surface cracks, the crack becomes the surface; that break means intensity.
Points of intensity rather than sutures.
